Friends of Grace

The Friends of Grace Community Center is a charitable organization, comprised of individuals living and working in Santa Clara County. They share a common belief that the services offered by Grace Community Center represent an essential community service.  The Friends of Grace, acting in an advisory capacity, contributes to the success of the Center in several ways, through fundraising, community education, and advocacy. 

Grace Community Center provides therapeutic recreation and rehabilitation programs for adults with mental disabilities.  At the Center, participants are provided with a variety of opportunities develop friendships, improve their self-esteem, become more self-sufficient, and develop life skills that promote their ability to integrate into the larger community.  The Center has created a model program for the future of therapeutic services.  It is located in the heart of downtown San Jose bordering San Jose State University , and is easily accessible by major transit lines.

As a member of The Friends of Grace, you will be contributing to the success of Grace Community Center's multifaceted program.  Members are able to contribute in several ways: by joining a committee to assist with fundraising, marketing, or policy review, volunteering at the Center, or through providing financial support.  More details here.

Absolutely!  The Friends of Grace Community Center is incorporated under the IRS Code as a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization.  All donations are tax deductible. Checks can be made payable to Friends of Grace Community Center and mailed to 484 East San Fernando Street, San Jose, CA 95112.  In addition to monetary donations, Grace Community Center is also in need of clothing (new or used), art supplies, office supplies, toiletries and hygiene products, and small novelty items to be used as bingo prizes and Holiday gifts.  For more information, please contact us at (408) 293-0422 or email us at info@thefriendsofgrace.org.
